If YouTube falls out of favour with its users, who is next in line?
YouTube appears to kicking loads of users off the site who've uploaded video's containing copyright material - they seem to have adopted a blanket '3 strikes and you're banned' approach to users, an attitude which is very biased against the very loyal users whom are generally wanted on most websites - those users whom take the time to upload many video's instead of just one or two.
Far be it for me to suggest the management and staff of YouTube ought to pull their heads out of their bottoms to see the light, but surely this is the wrong policy to adopt? Seems quite straightforward to me, why don't YouTube just delete the offending video rather than the user and his 2000+ video's which have probably been interlinked with another 4000+ websites. Bearing in mind that probably 80 to 90% of video's already on YouTube have some form of questionable copyrighted material, whether it be video or musical or image based, leads me to think YouTube may not be the leading video provider for much longer, and the reason for me asking the question in the first place. So if YouTube falls out of favour with its users as appears to be the case, who will be next in line? |

More accurate you can't be!
I will be President someday [nowadays any $%^& is President ] But back t the topic before I get scold... those new technologies [i.e. YouTube] bring this kind of implications and dilemmas that evolve in a new set of rules... you're right, users will draft their preferences to sites that doesn't enforce regulations, but imo YouTube will be always #1 |

youtubes site so what they say goes - goes simple as.
They are right in banning people for uploading copyright material and 3 strikes and u out is something i agree with. Also remember not everything uploaded is copyright - its just its not suitable for the web site so that will also earn u a ban and the stuff in question is proberly : Happy slap attacks - school fights etc as there is no need for these to be on there anyway. |

Never happen. Youtube is too big...most people use it. However, there is: http://www.liveleak.com/
Personally, the user should be banned IMO. However, videos that do NOT go against their rules should NOT be deleted. Period. If they do nothing, then it will happen more often. It's just the pathetic people who upload stupid videos who spoil it for everyone. |

They were on Oprah today. The entire show was dedicated to YouTube, so I say they'll be getting an added boost of users. She selected some of the top videos and brought the person to the show....including the skate boarding dog!
