Dismounted could you please explain. I think I am also interested in the same thing. In the pic below I would like to put a rotating banner between the "Racing Section" and "Sponsors"

Try installing this modification: Seperate Forum Categories

Then after, edit the forumhome_seperate_forumcats insert your advert code after the opening:
