I'm just curious how much bandwidth a forum with about 10,000 people would need, anyone know?

It varies on what style you use, how many remain active, how many you have on per day. An overall guess would be less than 100 gigs. I don't worry about bandwidth I use chattanoogahosting and I have unlimited everything. I don't understand why they are so cheap though?

They oversell like my host, haha. Are you on shared hosting? If so they probably don't want you hogging.

Now many registered users is not really a factor...
Things that are factors are things like:
However, I would say that a well optimized and bare site which gets 100,000 visits a month could probably stay under 100,000MB of bandwidth. However, that doesn't mean that you could get 100,000 users a month and stay on shared hosting... In fact chances are you would need a VPS or Dedicated server... |
