I have a bit of script that operates a pop up and needs to be placed in the <head> area. Being new to all this, exactly where do I find the <head> code area?

you'll have to paste that script in header or headinclude template of your style.

go to styles and templates->style manager-> << >> header/headinclude

If you don't find head tag in either of the templates, create one at the top and paste the script inbetween.

Placed it at top of headerinclude.
