IPB 1.3.1 Import and themes

Heya,
i want to buy vB in the near future but there are still 2 questions left that i really need to get answered.

as i mentioned in the topic i need to import a IPB 1.3.1 database to vB (180.000 posts, 10.000 members, about 30 forums). is ImpEx able to really import the database 1:1 without modifications on the id's? for example there are some deleted topics/users etc so that for example the userid's 10-20 are empty and userxy has 9, userxz 21. if it tries to order those id's in a new scheme userxz would have the id 10 afterwards instead of 21. that's something i really don't want.
also our topics are listed on specific keywords on the top entrys of google and i don't want to loose or get changed id's so that before importing id 2100 is "bla" and after importing due to id modifications it's "blehrg".
profilesettings like avatar/signature/informations and of course the topics in the right forums are a must.

next question: is it possible to use a different messagebackground all 2 posts in a theme? (like it's shown here: http://doom3.planet-multiplayer.de/f...howtopic=12997 )

Don't understand the second part, so what exactly is different?

if you look on the backgroundcolor of the posts, you can see that post 1,3,5.. have a different color than 2,4,6..
and i want to know if it's possible to use this also in a vB-theme and if, how. (didn't seen a similiar effect on any vB-theme so far, so i'm asking)

That's possible. There are style sections called alt1 and alt2 to control this. I never realised until now that no official sites had varying alt1 and alt2 colours...

About your import questions:

- ImpEx will be able to import all that is listed in the manual: IPB 1.3
- All members, threads, etc.. will be renumbered to vBulletin id's
- An example 404 script is included to allow you to setup redirects for old (IPB) URLs to the new vBulletin URLs, so search engines are aware of the new URL and you can redirect the users.
