mod_rewrite for archives

Hi there

WE recently moved from a PHP 4 mod setup to a PHP5 CGI setup and that chnaged the archive URL's.

Google indexed us as follows:
URL/archive/index.php/t-42671.html

When I use the archive now it links to a thread like this:
URL/archive/index.php?t-42671.html

Is there a basic mod_rewrite rule to change this? Can you please point me in the right direction?

Any help will be great.
