I recently got vbulletin and was given the most recent version, 3.6.10
Just realizing now that most skins aren't compatible with this version. It's hard enough finding a good skin, considering I find 90% of the skins for vbulletin pretty bad and most of which cost 30 dollars which is hilarious. But when I actually do find one that isn't atrocious, I find it's compatible with 3.6, while I have 3.6.10 I mean, c'mon. These constant upgrades that equal 10 different versions of 3.6 = it's hard finding a compatible skin. It's strange to me because vbulletin costs $85 per year, and I was willing to switch to it from phpbb because installing mods on phpbb were very hard for me. I really expected more with regards to skins considering the price. So while installing mods on vbulletin has been easier, dealing with the hopeless effort to find a skin compatible with 3.6.10 that I actually like has been disappointing. |

I don't think your problem is all that great. In all reality, if a skin is made for a earlier version of 3.6, it's going to work with 3.6.10. There may be some small changes, but they could easily be fixed. Sometimes, there are no template changes at all. I admit, it is a pain when you go from series to series, and sometimes, from a beta to a gold version, but would you rather vbulletin not update and the software be less stable, or know that they are constantly working to improve the product and make it more secure.
