Licences and Creating Styles
With regard to companies who create custom styles commercially, I've always wondered how they go about testing these styles for multiple versions of vBulletin. Do they purchase separate licences for every couple of styles they are testing, or does vBulletin make special arrangements with them? Or is there, perhaps, a way to install vbulletin on your local machine that makes this possible?

You can always have 1 test installation if you have a valid license. But i guess they just create the style for when the new vB version is released.

I hadn't thought of that. I've been thinking of getting into making styles commercially. But I was hoping to make the styles compatible for all versions of the 3.x series. I guess I could keep changing the test site to older versions, but I was hoping there was a more hassle free way to go about it.

I guess they create it for version X and save that. Once version Y is relreased tehy update the style and save it again. Now they have a version of the style for both these vB versions. If you continue to do so with each new vB version you will have a nice set of saved styles for each version after some time.
