Cookies That Last Forever
What I'm looking for is a cookie that truly last forever. I'm having problems making it work.
For example, you should be able to put in "time()+99999999999" and it last forever, right? Well, once you restart your browser or your computer, it erases that cookie. However, here on vBulletin, those cookies never erase. So what am I doing wrong? Is it based on an IP address for vBulletin that searches your last login IP and if it's the same, sets another cookie? Or is it more simple than that? Thanks! |

As long as the user checks off remember me, it will last forever.
Reset your cookies back to default in the admin panel and then clear your cookie on your browser. |

I'm not talking about vBulletin though. I'm just talking in general. I've made a website with a login system and everything. But when you restart the browser or computer, it erases the cookie. However, I am still logged into all of the vBulletin forums around the internet. So I'm curious what vBulletin does in comparison to just making it "time()+9999999999".
EDIT: Nevermind. I think I figured it out. It just didn't like the "9999999999" part. It's working now. |
