Moving board without server access
We are trying to help a friend with a VB board that is not allowed FTP access.
He wants to move the board to his own server. His freind that owns the current server space is not allowing him access. Is there anyway to move the board, or export the data without server access? Thanks |

Why is your friend not posting about this issue?
If he was smart he would be filing a complaint to the hosting company were this individual is hosting the server. |

Well, that is the whole point, his friend is the hosting company.
He does not have enough experience to do any of the work, we just happened to be around to help him out. This is his fisrt board, let alone first VB board, it is a couple weeks old. It will take time for him to stand on his feet, so we offered to help him out. Hence why I am posting. |

Nice friend. All he needs to do is get a copy of the database and reinstall vbulletin on his own server.

I don't think there is anyway to get it unless you can find a hack he can install that makes a backup of the database and then emails it to him? I used to know of one for vb 3.0 (I think, it's been a while, so my memory may be a bit fuzzy especially since I never used that part of the script) but I don't know of one for 3.6.
If his board is only a couple of weeks old, maybe the best thing to do is to start from scratch. How many users does he already have registered? |

We finally are talking to the host. He is "thinking" about doing a PHP dump and emailing it to us.
It is a new board, with lots of imported data from another software. So starting fresh would suck. |
