Hello everyone. I'm trying to figure out how to do several things in vbulletin which I haven't been able to find answers to by searching the net.
1) I'd like to allow some donating usergroups to have custom user titles but at the same time I want to have it set up so that their donation status also stays visible and that they can't edit it. Is there anyway for me to display their donation status without interfering with their custome user title? Other than just telling them to keep the donation status included in their title. 2) Due to the content type of my forum I don't want people to be able to exchange contact information amongst one another. Is there anyway for me to get rid of certain default profile fields on memebrs profiles, such as AIM name/other I-M type contact, website address etc. without completely blocking them from viewing profiles? 3) Is there anyway for me to block guests from viewing some forum content but to still allow search engine ROBOTS to access those areas? 4) Lastly, I've had a couple people who are purposely harassing other members on the board (crazy ex's and such) is there anyway or a mod or something that can customize limitations on new members and automatically move them to the regular member abilities after they meet particular requirements? I know I could create a usergroup for new members and limit them and then manually move them one by one but looking for something practical. Big thanks! |

Even help with just one of those questions would be a big help. |

In reply to question 2 please read this post, this is the only successful way I have found of disabling the im options in members profiles.

Number 1: I did a "Mark User as Contributor" hack a while back that might be along the line of what you are trying to do here.
Number 2: you could do a template conditional so Admins/Staff could still see it though. Number 3: You could also do template conditionals for this, but it would depend on what you are trying to block from whom. Number 4: Use the promotion system built in to vb. |
