would like to know what people think of the look of the site. I am looking at maybe changing the site using another skin.

I think you could use a new skin. The current one is overused. I also think you should condense your forums more. There are way too many, try making most of them subforums and using the CyB Subforum Manager.

The skin does look a little dated. That aside, I agree with Savage - too many subforums on a site with a low overall post count makes every forum look empty. I'd merge a few of them for a while until you have the need to segment it out.
