File Path to log in Username & Password
I'm using vbulletin 3.6.8 - I installed FlashChat yesterday from tufat.com and it works for me but members can't log in.
There must be something with pulling up the root path or something from what I'm learning by trying to figure this out. I had to manually change a users password, then go in myself with their user account, after a few attempts and clear cache, then it worked, and now the user will have to change their password to something private for themselves again. I can't do this for every member who wants to log in, what could be the problem? How can I fix this please The error I'm seeing that people are getting is a /chat/getxml.php page. my vbulletin is not installed as "vbulletin.com/forum" as the path it is in the root at "vbulletin.com" So does this mean I need to change the inc/cmses root path code so it will pick up my userid's correctly so people can log in? right now they can't log in. what would the code be to fix this for vbulletin? |

I assume you've purchased this modification from another site? You should therefore ask for support from that site.
I doubt very much this problem is to do with your directory structure, however I may be wrong. You should seek assistance from tufat.com with this. |

Change the value of $vbpath in inc/cmses/vbulletin36CMS.php to the path of your vbulletin if you haven't after setup.

ONe of the main problems (that tufat didn't make me aware of) is that the default new member usergroup is the link up to usernames... Onces I gave my members the default new member usergroup as a secondary group it worked. Now people can log into the chat. My new members are moderated, then they are moved to a higher usergroup with more permissions. Because the members were in a higher usergroup as their primary group and were no longer attached to the "new member" usergroup that vbulletin has by default, then the chatters couldn't log in. They weren't recognized as members so their username and password wasn't linked to the chat.
It's all good now. It's working great. |
