Simple top posters mod?

I'm wondering if there is a simple top posters hack that allows you to put the top X posters in a list, e.g. top 10 posters in a sidebar. I found this one https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...ghlight=haggis but apparently it creates multiple queries each time a page is loaded and doesn't cache results, causing significant strain on the server. I'm wondering if anyone has modified this or created something silimar.
