[Members Only] replacing Post
Is there a way/mod out there that allows the users to see a post but instead of the contents of the post, you can have a custom message, i.e. "Members Only" in place of the post...?

Does anyone think this can be done? Any suggestions are appreciated...

I dunno if this was the same thread but I saw someone ask this a while ago. What's the point doing that...why don't you just hide the forums...I could understand why vb.org does it since they hide the important information within CODE and QUOTE tags as well as screens and downloads,....but if you hide the entire post..why not just hide the forum at the same time.

We have a free membership and a paid membership. We have much more activity on our paid membership forums. When I pull these forums into the home page using a CMPS module, if i restrict the forums, then those posts don't show up... this alludes that there's no activity in the paid membership section... which is quite the contrary.
So if the title of the thread can come up and in place of the post is a [Members only]" notation, then non-members will be able to see that there indeed is a lot of activity! Also, is there a way or mod already there that posters can post both for the Public and Members Only eyes in the same post? For example, the poster can choose, within their post, to show a portion of it to the general public and to show another portion only to members... kind of like how www.thefunded.com does it. |

You can set people to be able to see the "Premium" forum and the titles, but not the posts itself. It is done through a setting in the Admin CP.
