Default Changing social group ownerships in 3.7

I posted this on vb.com but it was by and large ignored, hopefully someone here can help me out.

On my site, I'm only letting Admins/Mods create groups for everyone, and letting my users suggest them. My question is, after I create a group for some folks, is there a way for me to leave it? I'm currently a member of every regional group on my site, and while I'm a rather omnipotent fellow, it feels a bit silly.

If this isn't a feature right now, +1!

A solution for until a Mod is written or vbulletin changes things or whatever would be to create a new user and have that new user be the creator of all the groups. I know that's not perfect, but it may work in the meantime.

Why do you have to be a member of these groups? As an admin you create them, but why join them?

When you create a group, you join it automatically.

Aye, that's what I'm wishing I did, but honestly I just assumed that it'd be possible to leave a group if you're the owner. :\

What kind of "groups" are we talking about? Regular vBulletin (Public Joinable?) Usergroups?

If you are comfortable with your database, you may be able to go into it and manually change the owner.

It might not be a bad idea to leave it as is so you can keep on eye on things if something went south within the group. Maybe have a Mod make the groups and that way they would know a Mod was watching over things.
