Hello,
I have a question about private forums. I use VB Advanced and when someone posts in the private forum it is showing up as a new post on the home page. Is there a way that will only show if they have the permissions to see it? |

Are you sure it is? If you are logged in as a person allowed to see that private forum, then that thread will get listed for you. Try logging into a test account that does not have access to that forum and see if the thread still gets listed. It normally should not be.

Here is what is happening. We have a forum that only Officers can see and post in. When we do post there, the non officers see on the home page that there are 2 New Posts and when they click the link to go to the forums it says no new posts to view.

Also, check the query used in vbAdvanced. You may want to go post in their forums for help with this.

Go to Admin CP > vBa CMPS.
Code:
Apply Forum Permissions Turn this option on to take your forum permissions into account and only show threads which the user has permission to view. |
