vbulletin 3.7 and SEO

I was looking at my forums SEO today and thought about digging into vbSEO. Then a question occured to me, won't 3.7 kind of make vbSEO obsolete? A lot of SEO options have been added to 3.7, so is it really necessary to splash out the extra $150?

I am not really familiar with vbseo, I've looked at their website but I can't convince myself that vbseo will increase my site rankings by much when vbulletin 3.7 gold is up for grabs.

Any thoughts?

Why don't you post over at the vBSEO forums? Most of us either don't have 3.7, or don't have vBSEO.

the reason I posted my question here first is because I assume that at least some members have experience with vbSEO, and they will give me a honest and straight forward opinion.

If I post in the vbSEO forum I am pretty sure they all will tell me it's worth the money and it's a great product that is a must have for all vbulletin owners.

But I'm with you Dismounted, I should probably ask that question again when vbulletin 3.7 final has been released.

For one, the social bookmarking manager- easy submission to the four most popular Social Networking Sites, by the simple click of a button. You can also add more social bookmarking options through the ACP.

Also, there are the build in thread tags now. These make a nice impact on page relevance.

Tags i can agree may help some SEO, but adding social bookmarking links won't really help the SEO, it'll help traffic.

But neither help with the one of the bigger parts of SEO and thats reducing the duplicate content that vBulletin generates.

why does vbulletin create a lot of duplicate content? Is it because of the templates it uses or something?

On a side not my search engine traffic has gone up 25% since upgrading on one of my forums. Dont no if its anything to do with the upgrade or just a bit more relevence being put on my site but just thought i would mention it.
