wierd issue on forum index
so last night I was trying to insert a random banner next to my header image. I ran into issues with the placement of the banner, and scrapped the idea for now. Then I changed my header image, and I thought all went well. My problem is with the forum index page. there is a 3" blank space on the right side of the page. it forces the scroll bar at the bottom, and when you look at that space there isn't anything there. now here where it's weird. I can accept that I messed something up when I was trying to add the ad banner, but it's only on the index. if I open a section it's fine, go to the gallery. it's fine, go into the arcade, its fine. I am using VBadvanced as my front end CMPS product, and the main page is also fine. Any ideas on what I broke?
Thanks, Larry |

When trying to place the banner, which template did you edit?
Thanks, Paul. |

I was in default style>header.
here is the text from that template <!-- logo --> <a name="top"></a> <table border="0" width="$stylevar[outertablewidth]" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" align="center"> <tr> <td align="center"><a href="Http://www.thescmas.com"><img src="$stylevar[titleimage]" border="0" alt="The Southern Colorado Marine Aquarist Society" /></a></td> </tr> </table> <!-- /logo --> <!-- content table --> $spacer_open $_phpinclude_output |

Cant seem to view your site.
I get this error message. "Sorry. The administrator has banned your IP address. " If you haven't do any other template modifications and dont have anything else installed in the header template I would try 'reverting' the template. Thanks, Paul. |

Well I tried to copy the original version in there, but I will ty it again and see what happens. the wierd things is, it's only on that one page. all the others look ok. is there a template to governs the layout of the forum index?
--------------- Added [DATE]1200939316[/DATE] at [TIME]1200939316[/TIME] --------------- ok, I reverted what I posted above to this.. <!-- logo --> <a name="top"></a> <table border="0" width="$stylevar[outertablewidth]" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" align="center"> <tr> <td align="$stylevar[left]"><a href="$vboptions[forumhome].php$session[sessionurl_q]"><img src="$stylevar[titleimage]" border="0" alt="$vboptions[bbtitle]" /></a></td> <td align="$stylevar[right]"> </td> </tr> </table> <!-- /logo --> <!-- content table --> $spacer_open $_phpinclude_output same issue. |

It looks to me like your image file is longer than it needs to be causing the forced scroll bar. I would recommend changing the size of the images, and then trying to use the image again. I believe this is what you need to do. I could be wrong. I thought I was wrong once, turns out I was mistaken.

Yeah that was my original thought the size of the image, but when he said just that one page?
The Forum home relates to the forum index. Thanks, Paul. |
