Hide Poll Results until Poll CLOSES

I need to (optionally) hide the results of SOME polls from ALL users, regardless of whether they've voted yet or not themselves, until the poll is closed.

Think like an election -- where they don't announce the winner (or give authoritative progress reports) until all secret ballots are cast.

This can't be too hard, can it?

One extra "characteristic" or "property" to track for each poll created, a few phrases, a conditional in a template maybe . . .

I would have expected that others might have wanted such a thing before now. I looked pretty hard but found nothing existing that fits the bill.
