One of my members was saying to me that if they don't post for a while then it logs them out automatically.so i checked the setting of my board but im not 100% sure what to change i thought it could be this cookie setting:

Session Timeout
This is the time in seconds that a user must remain inactive before their login session expires. This setting also controls how long a user will remain on Who's Online after their last activity.

it was set at 500,is it this that is causing this?

How long do they mean by "a while"?

Just tell them to check the "Remember Me" box when they login then they won't need to worry about.
