Hello all,
just a quick question.... I have just bought Vb the other day and installed it all correctly and its working fine. Cept the posting, when someone makes a post it redirects them to the post made so they can see it, but when you go to look on the homepage or threads it does not appear for about 5 mins. Yes it was all uploaded inh ANSII with the images on Binary - and i have no mods or plugins. just the standard forum! The posts and threads are not moderated. Add No-Cache HTTP Headers - set to no Update Thread Views Immediately - set to yes I'm assured by my hosts (webfusion) that there is no server issues. so why is it taking so long ? is there a setting to slow this process down somewhere ? so frustrated with it now! ![]() ![]() plz help thanks |

There could be several things that may cause this.
This can be cause by the browser using a cache from it's stores even though you have told it not to. They Update Views is that instead of waiting and doing a once every hour or so, it will add to the "Times Viewed" immediately. This would most likely be a topic that the vBulletin Support team would help with. Posting at vB.com would give you the best results, unless they sent you here to ask it. |

Ive tried what vbulletin.com said to do and it didnt work which was.
re-upload in ANSII which i did and disable plugins - which i have not got. test for suspect file versions - which i did Now there saying its my server - which its not I have a free phpbb on the exact same kind of sever without this problem! I thought paying for a better program would be even better, but its just ending up a headache. Any other suggestions ? ![]() |

Do you have a test user account that we can check this out with? Are other users noticing this also?

Start by putting it back to Yes.
Something is strange. New threads do show on forumhome/forumdisplay, but it seems with a few seconds delay for some reason. Can you tell a bit more about your server config? |

What do you need to know about server config ?
Im not really too clued up on server stuff --------------- Added [DATE]1200044105[/DATE] at [TIME]1200044105[/TIME] --------------- No cache header now set back to yes too (what does this do?) |

It should avoid caching of the pages.
As much server info as possible: webserver used, OS, cahcing or OP-code caching used, etc.. |
