Default Users being able to modify their Birthdays

We converted the boards from SMF -> VBulletin back in the summer. Now, many people have January 1st as their birthday and would like to change it to the correct date(s).

I browsed the VBulletin options for 30 minutes and didn't see the option. I also Googled it and most people attempt to turn off user-modification of the birthdays.

Thanks in advance. Have a great 2008!

Bump - I need this capability, too.

I don't really understand why we don't have an option to allow this.

Is it possible to do?

Thanks,

DJ Richards

You can already modify your birthdate without changing any settings. User CP > Edit Profile.

But where does a vBulletin-site Admin turn on/off the ability to allow the users to do that on their own?

I don't believe there is an option to turn it off. The only way would be probably to create a modification for it.

Dismounted, I am not talking about on here though. I am talking about on my own site. It says clearly that an Administrator has to change birthdates.

I know you're not talking about here. My post still stands.

I am so confused. On this site, I can change my birthday/date. On my site, I can't. At least not by using usercp.

On my site, this is what a user sees.

Your date of birth and age are displayed in several places on the forum. Only the administrator will have access to your date of birth should you choose to hide it via the privacy option below.
Please contact the Administrator if your date of birth has changed.

Mine is not, and has never been, set to hide age and date of borth.

Hmmm, maybe there's some option I don't know about. I'll have a look into it.

AdminCP -> vBulletin Options -> User Profile Options -> Require Date of Birth

If set to Yes, then each member can enter their birthday once (usually upon registration) and is not allowed to change at a later time. (Would be useless as a birthday never changes).

If set to No, the member is not required to provide a birthday and he/she can change at any time.
