| Just Got a Verizon Wireless USB Aircard

I am so excited. I just got a new Verizon Wireless UM150 USB Aircard. This thing is awesome!!! It gets broadband speeds in my office (where my Verizon phone doesn't even get a signal), at my house (rural South Carolina), and everywhere I have tested it so far. Since it is USB, I can use it in my desktop PC at home also. I unhooked the cable modem last night, and tested in the desktop. The internet is actually FASTER using the aircard than it is with the cable modem!!! I am calling the cable company today to cancel their service. The aircard is only $10.00 more a month than I am/was paying for cable internet, and I can take it with me!!! I highly recommend this card!!! BTW - I am not a Verizon employee (not even that satisfied with my phone). But...I do love this wireless card!! |

The card was free. Monthly service is $59.99, I think. I'm paying $40.00/month now for cable internet, so it is only $20.00 more for ability to go anywhere.

I've been thinking about getting one of these (Different carrier), but I'm not sure if it will be faster where I live. Think we have slow transfer speeds (EDGE or something like that? I don't know much about cell phone infrastructure.).

I just purchased a Sprint Sierra Wireless AirCard and it is the best, I don't think I'll ever turn away from it. For it being completely wireless it has incredible speeds. I'm coming off of Dial-Up, so of course I'm amazed, but even back when I was on DSL I don't think it was this fast. |

Um so u know the unlimited plans still have limits. I believe the unlimited plan is capped at 5gb a month.

Hopefully you never have to bring your laptop to my neck of the woods. The Verizon Aircard service provides less than Dial-up speeds here. My father has to do it when working insurance claims and it often takes 30-40 minutes simply to connect to the company network.

Man I used 3 kinds of cards in the last 1 and a half year... I live in Southern CA = L.A. I'm glad that u like it but believe me! now I hate those cards, a real headache, make me stay on my bed hours, gain some weight, hands hurting so I have to cancel that... ready to go DSL! more stable... |
