Moderator drop-down menu

Hey all,

I was just wondering if someone could come up with a hack that would put all the moderators in a drop-down menu.
I made a few screenshots to explain what I mean :

Main page :

Forums :

The code for the drop down box itself isn't quite hard :

<select name="moderators" onChange='top.location.href=this.form.moderators.options[this.form.moderators.selectedIndex].value'>
<option value='#'>-- Moderators --
<option value="link">moderator name
<option value="link">moderator name
<option value="link">etc.
</select>

Anyone feel inspired?

Open index.php, find:

PHP Code:

while($mods=$DB_site->fetch_array($forumsmods)) {
                  $fid = $mods[forumid];
                  if ($modcache[$fid]) {
                      $modcache[$fid] .= ", ".htmlspecialchars($mods[username]);
                   } else {
                      $modcache[$fid] = htmlspecialchars($mods[username]);
                  }
             }

and replace with something like:

PHP Code:

while($mods=$DB_site->fetch_array($forumsmods)) {
                  $fid = $mods[forumid];
                  if ($modcache[$fid]) {
                      $modcache[$fid] .= "<option value=\"link\">".htmlspecialchars($mods[username])."</option>";
                      } else {
                      $modcache[$fid] = "<select name=\"moderators$fid\"";
                    $modcache[$fid] .= " onChange='top.location.href=this.form.moderators$fid.options";
                    $modcache[$fid] .= "[this.form.moderators$fid.selectedIndex].value'>";
                    $modcache[$fid] .= "<option value='#'>-- Moderators --</option>";
                    $modcache[$fid] .= "<option value=\"link\">".htmlspecialchars($mods[username])."</option>";
                  }
             }
            $modcache[$fid] .= "</select>";

Note, this is from 2.0 code but I don't use 2.0, I don't have it installed, and this is not tested! Enjoy

ps. be sure to modify the value=\"link\" in two places, something like value=\"member.php?userid=$mods[userid]\" You'll have to add user.userid to the SELECT query.

Sweetness!

I'll get on it right away. Thanks a lot Overgrow. You da man
