Auto forum post for a new member

OK, have been searching thru the mods and just can't find this.

What I want is for when a new member joins the forum, a post is automatically made welcoming them to the forum.

I have seen this running on vbulletin boards so assume it is a mod - can anyone point me to one (or several !) that do this ?
