Q: How to allow external vBpages to work when forum is in maintenance mode?

I have an external vB page which integrates with a chatroom software, that uses vB's global.php for user login and authentication.

When I put the forum into maintenance mode, I would like users to be able to still access the chatroom.

How would I enable the login process on this external page, while bypassing the maintenance mode message?

I think there is a modification which will allow certain usergroups to still get onto your forum even when it is closed for maintainance. Perhaps that mod will do what you want.
