Create a new style, just change the color scheme to what ever you want and edit all the default images to.

I think that I heard somebody saying that you can modify DEFAULT STYLE and force color schemes on the subforums without creating new styles...

There are lots of skins here that are only color changes to the style.

This is the way to go. In the beginning, its a lot of trial and error. In the end, you will end up with your own personal style.

I never touch the default style. I create new styles with the default style as the parent style, and go from there.
