If your server supports running PHP in .htm/.html files, yes, there is an option to do that.

Hi,

I mean to embedd the forum in the htm or html page instead of a PHP page. I hired two freelence professionals to put PHPBB in htm pages for me. They both chicken out and not reply after getting my money. Is it really a dificult task to some professionals.

What's wrong with running them with the .php extension? You can still use HTML in them...

I don't have the capability to edit PHP page. I only have MS Frontpage to edit htm or html files.

Easy thing to use for Editing php files is Notepad++ i've used that always.

You edit php files with Notepad (read: not Wordpad or MS Word) or another similar text editor .

The layouts? Those aren't in the files anyways, they are in the templates that are stored in the database.

Dude, M$Frontpage? That is *not* a proper html editor unless you want your pages to look like something dredged up from 1996.

If you're a visually oriented person no interested in working with the code guts of files your best bet will be Adobe Dreamweaver (almost said Macromedia). You can try it free for 30 days, after which it is a bit pricey ($299 IIRC). CS3.

As link points out though - you'll need to paste the source code that program generates into the templates in vbulletin - editting vbulletin's files can't change the look of your pages (beyond seriously messing them up).

Notepad++ was mentioned and yes, I'll agree that's one of the best freeware solutions for the PC. It's only real rival in the free area is jEdit which is java based and runs on all platforms. The best PHP editor is Zend Studio, and though it has a 30 day trial it rings in at $199 to purchase. If you don't know html (and not trying to be mean here but if you are willing to use M$ Frontpage odds say you don't) none of these is going to help you at all. Dreamweaver is probably your best shot.

It is not recommended to run vBulletin embedded in a webpage via an iframe or other mechanism. You can adjust vBulletins style so that it matches that of your existing website via the built-in template system. However this template system is no compatible with Frontpage, Dreamweaver, Golive or Expressions. You would most likely need to know basic HTML at the least to customize the look and feel of the software.
