Updates
A few minor updates were applied to vbulletin.org last night.
Portal The ability to list 20 previous winners has been added to the portal MOTM display (by clicking on the sub title) - this matches the similar functionality in the other display boxes. Modification Settings A couple of old settings have been removed and some new settings added. The settings are now contained within label tags to allow easier selection of them by just clicking the text. Templates The template options have been split into Manual and Automatic - manual should be used if the member needs to make manual edits to templates, auto is for when the code does the template edits with no manual changes necessary (this includes the use of template hooks that vb now provides) External Content Please tick this option if your modification links to sites other than the site the modification is installed on to retrieve information. For example a weather display modification may pull data from a weather site to display on the members site. Translations You may now indicate that translations of your modification are allowed on other official sites - by official we mean any site that verifys a members licence status via Jelsofts verification system. ATM the only other site this covers is the German modifications site. Re-usable Code By ticking this option you are indicating that you give permission for code in your modification to be used by others in their own modifications - as long as they credit you as the original author. This also means that you are allowing others to release updated or ported versions of your modification, again as long as they credit yourself as the original author. If you wish to place restrictions on what ticking this option allows then we suggest you include a licence file with you modification outlining what you allow. Ticking this option does not override any such licence conditions. A number of minor changes and fixes have been applied. The only one that may have a noticable effect is that the mail system has been changed to send non urgent (queued) mail in batches - this has become necessary because some of the more popular modifications now send well over 2,000 e-mails when an update is provided - causing performance issues. Therefore, depending on the number of large updates, queued mails may now take longer to be sent. |
