Hello,

We have a request from members of our forum in California to see if there is anyway to change the minimum post requirements per day to reflect their time zones. We have it set to 5 posts per day. If the member in CA is playing at 11:50pm CST (which is what our boards are set at), then at 12:00am CST, they have to make another 5 post counts to continue playing, even though it is only 10pm their time.

Is there anyway to change this to reflect their own time zones?

Thanks!

WTF???

This is something they experienced and proven or something they just brought up form nowhere?

Cuz from my understanding, the times on a forum are all based on the user's time, not the server. Only thing that involves the server is log-file stamps and when maintenance things kick in.

These california users have gone into their profiles and set themselves to PST (Pacific) time zone right?

I guess I should have asked that. LOL I just assumed they were. I mean, why wouldn't they be?

I figured that it did that - the post counts worked for each person's time zone. I'll go ask. And if they don't have it set to their own time zone, I don't know who will feel like a bigger doorknob, me for not asking or them for not doing it. LOL

Now that I read it better, I was wrong. They do have it set on their time.

My question now is: Is there any way to make the "post count requirement" reset at like 2am instead of 12am?

On my honeymoon in New Zealand for another week but was checking email and saw you replied and was curious as to your results.

If I don't reply to this by October 22, please fire BUMP to this and I'll give it a go. I currently can't see my files from this net cafe in Christchurch, NZ but when I get back I'll look.

I'm positive there is a way to alter that time stamp you need to change from 00:00:00 to 02:00:00 or something along those lines.

If you can wait, I'll check it in a week when I get back, otherwise, hopefully either you or someone else gets it all sorted out. Sorry about the wait.

OH my gosh - that would be awesome. Thank you for the help, I'll bump it then. I'd greatly appreciate it.

I figured it was just changing code somewhere but I don't know where to find it. We're going to reset all of our scores for the first time on November 1st and I'd love to change this then also.

Thanks again, Congrats on the marriage and Happy Honeymoon'ing!!!

Struggling with this one. But still trying.

Only fix at the moment would be to set your board to PST. Because unless your board is for people that live around you only, it really doesn't matter what the default time zone is set to anyway. 66% of the people are going to have to change it when they are registering.

Just a thought. Still looking though.
