Coder/Desinger Guild Area?

For those who are ranked as coders or designers (or both), it would be nice if there was an area just for us.

It would be great to have a place where we could discuss the business of coding in the arena of vbulletin as far as the aspect of doing custom work related to vbulletin only. Call it a guild if you wish.

I am not talking about discussing code itself per say, but a private area where coders/designers can for example:

• Discuss how to go about evaluating a project before acceptance.
• Pitfalls in customer/coder relationships.
• How to maximize customer satisfaction.
• Ethics when it comes to the customer/coder.
• Limiting liability when working in production areas.
• Provide feedback on customers we have done work for.
• Discuss topics related to the "industry".
• Etc..

Allowing access to coders by ranking or release level would keep the "guild" a bit more exclusive IMO.

That is an area about CODING. What I am talking about is a bit different.. And that area, unless I am mistaken, is open to the public.

That will be a great idea to have in the community.

Not to mention, some user(s) can obtain a title by simply posting a simple mod.

Maybe a Level 2 and above can view this private sub-forum.

Bad Idea. Especially here. why should a high ranking designer/coder have special privileges over a member with a low rank? A hidden discussion area will only cause unrest amongst the people who don't have access to it.

I never said it had to be high, but like a previous poster said, you should have more than just one mod with one install to get in no?

What that level would be, well, that is out of my hands..

I doubt it will cause "unrest" amongst the people that don't have privilege toward it.

It's better to gain that privilege than to simply view it because of a level 1.
