I have had NO luck with ipower hosting vbulletin for any length of time without some error, either too many queries, having my forum completely shut down if I am trying to reset counters, blank pages, not being able to send 400 emails without timing out, and MySql server problems.
Do you think this is an issue with ipower? Don't want to start a BIG debate, just wondering.

It shouldn't be an issue but if you are having problems that suggests that there may be an issue, either with the way their servers are setup or maintained...
I was waiting for a topic about ipower. its been couple months that I also wanted to tell you guys about my issues with ipower and needed suggestion on good VPS hostings.
I tell you whats their problem:
Over selling
First off all if you are on their shared hosting dont even think about running vBulletin. One of THE worst shared hosting on the planet. Specially if you are using database of any kind.
Here was my deal when i was on their shared hosting. I had Joomla (the content management system) and it gives me errors in the amount of queries every night. my server would overload and apache would just stop working. my trick was creating multiple database user account and have it rotate around user dbs (user1,user2,etc) so it would distribute queries. Ialso had phpBB which also had queries issue.
I know it was time for me to move to VPS since i was getting 2-3 million hits per month.
So I made the worst mistake and bought their VPS package. (this is last January)
They told me to get a VPS or dedicated server. I couldnt afford dedicated server so i got a vps for $50/month and I stopped receiving mysql errors and queries problem. but thats only because there is no limit on queries in Virtual Private Servers so what start happening was that now I have to restart Apache or reload mysql EVERY NIGHT inorder to keep my site up and i am not exadurating, EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. I switched to vBulletin and expanded joomla. I have 4-5 million hits and about 30000 unique every month now.
Its to the point that im getting my stuff together and im moving and will never come back to ipower.
If you are a shared hosting and want to remain on shared hosting i recommand hostgator.com, i heard very good reviews about them. or for VPS im actually might be purchasing spry.com's VPS package.
Thats my experience now i have to find a good time to cancel my accout. cant wait for that.
Hey, THANKS for your reply. Do I have to do anything after I set up new users to have it distribute the queries? Is there a limit to the amount of users that they let you have? I remember something in a phone call one time that advised against having too many or they would shut me down.
