Morning everyone.
I've recently blocked an IP from our forum thinking it was linked to spam. I still do, but would like a second opinion for I could be way off base here. IP info: a.f.5746.static.theplanet.com [70.87.15.10] Prior to blocking, this guy has been hopping all over our board attempting to post as a guest. After I blocked him I'm getting DB errors out the well...use your imagination. ![]() DB errors are mysql connect errors. See below: Quote:
What do you make of this? Thoughts on how to proceed? Do you think it's spam? If so, I have no problems contacting The Planet as I'm fairly certain it is in violation of their AUP. Also, other members are not receiving any DB errors. For them things are running smoothly. I'd appreciate any thoughts on this. Thanks in advance ![]() |

I am not exactly sure but I did a google search for you try this fix http://www.tech-recipes.com/mysql_tips762.html if you are not comfortable with editing mysql trying sending a support ticket to your host see if they will help ya.
If that doesn't work just trying searching " Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket " in google I found some nice stuff but that seemed to be the best so far. Sorry I can't be to much help I know there are some hacks out there that access tons of pages on your server in attempt to bring it down for a few seconds. I had a guy try to do this to me he was successful till I blocked all ip's from accessing my server through putty. |
