Current Status
I have been trying to develop a 'forum status" profile field for my current site. I was just wanting to know if there was any way i could set the profile field to be editable on the postbit.
For example, i am wanting to set up so there is a drop down menu of choices for your "forum status" i.e. Be back after work, bored, reading, ect. And if you click on your current status in the postbit, a drop down box with all the possible status's appear and can let u instantly change ur status instead of having to go to the user CP. Any help in setting this up would be greatly appreciated. Thank you heaps in advance, Elizabeth |

Look for the 'mood manager' hack, and make some buttons to display what you want to do.

Mood and status are different.
Probably he/she is aiming for a text editing instead of switching. |

But you could use the same basic system, and just write in the text that you want the users to be able to choose from rather than display the mood images.
Then choose the option in the 'mood manager' to display it as text in their posts under a 'My Status' heading instead of 'My Mood' and an image. |
