Hi
Recently made the admin cp change to store which threads have been read in the db, as oposed to the cookie version. The problem now is that our members are complaining that they can't tell which threads have new posts since their last visit. I'm pretty sure I'm missing something obvious, so apologies to the poor soul who replies!! ![]() Simon |

With database read marking the bahviour changes from "New Posts" (ie. since last visit) to "Unread Posts" (even from before the last visit).

agreed.
I was asking though if there is a way for users to identify the new threads since last visit. But assuming there wasn't, I've added a small mod to put an icon next to everything that's newer than last visit. Thanks for the reply. |

In the new post search results, there will be a marker showing which post are new since the last visit.

Thanks Marco, valid point.
Although this is usually many pages of posts.. so being able to see quickly whats new in each forum when you're browsing is still important. Anyway, sorted now, with the little "new since last visit" icon next to each thread. |
