Assigning moderator abilities to a usergroup

Ok, this is probably the dumbest question ever but how do I allow a certain usergroup to have some moderator abilities?

I want them to be able to move threads, merge threads etc. but not delete them. The only option I can see in the usergroup options is to make them a "super moderator"

That's where I expected to find these options but all I can see is the ability for them to moderate their own posts

Go to ACP / Usergroups / Usergroup Manager and set Super-Moderator = Yes.

Afterwards, go to Forums & Moderators / Show All Moderators and set the permissions there.
