Default Paid services forum suggestion

I browse that forum quite often and I think it would help me as well as others if thread starters could have an option to select if the work has been done or not. I often go into many threads and read it all just to find out the work has been completed already by someone else. It would be convenient if it could stay [completed] or [open] next to the thread title.

It is a great suggestion, but many of the original authors don't check back on their threads. They only wait for the PM or e-mails and then move on once they get someone to do the work.... So I'm sure many of the threads would remain [open]...

Just from my own experience, when I end up PMing someone about a job that's been taken already, they usually reply letting me know and that they will update the thread to let others know as well. The thread starter doesn't know any better at this point, adding this well increase their incentive to check back and update it.

i always personally ask the clients to comment on my work when the job is done, and 75% of the time they "forget"... that's bad... it looks like this system is not useful as these clients are not telling to nobody if their request was answered...

We already ask that members who post in the S.R. post feedback once the job is completed (and this would also show it has already been done). I however hardly see any feedback at all.

Your missing the point, I'm not looking for a feedback system. I'm simply asking that there be an option the thread starter can select when the job is done, this way when I'm looking for jobs on the forumdisplay page, I get a better idea which threads are available and which are already done.

The point was that if they don't take the effort to give feedback or even just post "Done", then it is very unlikely that they will change a thread-prefix.

I'm not trying to debate whether or not users will actually use it. I'm simply suggesting this option be available and visible to those who do post "done". Right now, users have no idea that they need to post DONE in the forum, there is no information in site stating this, but if there was a select option in site, then they would feel more incline to select the option later.

people are not forced to read the announcements or the stickies, so it is sure they will not take the time to read the HowTos either...

most of the requests made in that forum are from people who never visit the site,... they register to post a request and ask to be contacted by email ... because they do not come back.... it is not that they do not care, it is just that they don't think they need to ...
