i've used Photopost (and we still do for the moment) but we'll be moving away from it soon.. its just a modification of their Photo Gallery software and it lacks alot of features we need.
vbclassifieds is one we are lookin at to replace it with. |

Make sure you set your cookie domain to .yourdomain.com
I'm biased, but use PhotoPost Classifieds on my site: http://www.viperalley.com/classifieds |

I'm a photopost supporter, I use it on several sites and its quite flexible and easy to add on additional features. Good support too.

i use pp classifieds... i like it cuz i use their gallery as well and i think it keeps my site uniform. both scripts are simailar looking and work simular (less confussion for my users). i also use hacks to pull images to vbadvanced and forum home page. keep them uniform as well and they compliment each other thoughout my site.

I use Photopost Classifieds on three of my sites and am just waiting for vbclassifieds to get up to speed so I can change over. I really don't like the photopost template system, and would really like a solution that ties into vbulletin a lot better, which it appears vbclassifieds is more like an add-on hack like vbadvanced CMPS. Problem is they don't have an import script yet and it seems the support is lacking a little at this point.
Personally, I like scripts that use the vb template system, styles, and code base. It's easier to tie into vb in various ways without having to know php in depth. That's why I switched from Photopost Gallery to VBA Gallery, back before Photopost bought the rights to the script. It's too bad the folks at vbadvanced won't take a stab at a classifieds script. |

It's hard for people to take on multiple large projects without the resources to cover the demands of development and support. When you look to build out an extensive application like a photo gallery or a classifieds script you are talking many months of development - not just for the product, but making it into something you can distribute and then add in support for. How many people actually make a living selling their add-ons for vBulletin that they can work fulltime? A few, but not many I suspect (it takes alot of customers to make a living selling scripts); I did it for years with PhotoPost, but this year made the transition back to Corporate America because it pays better.
That's one of the reasons Classifieds and ReviewPost are based on PhotoPost, using the main product as a template for the others allowed it to be modified in such a way that development time was reduced and the look/feel stayed consistent across the products. It's easy to say "why dont you build X", but when you look at the time required to actually build it then it's a harder decision to make; especially when there is already competition in that space. |

Actually, now that you put it that way, it would be nice if Photopost created a Classifieds system based on the VBgallery script. Now that would be perfect. It would cut development time down and do all the things that is great about vbgallery, only in a classifieds script form.

Best vb classifieds is setting a forum called "Classifieds"
![]() Or a category called Classifieds, with Selling and Buying/Trading forums. |
