Internet Pharmacy Spammer To Be Sentenced Tuesday

(AP) Minneapolis The Burnsville, Minn. man who made $24 million selling prescription painkillers illegally through his Internet pharmacy is expected to be sentenced today.

The 27-year-old was convicted by a federal jury in Minneapolis in November on nine counts, including conspiracy to sell drugs illegally, misbranding drugs and money laundering.

Prosecutors are asking that Smith be sentenced to 30 years in prison. They allege that he tried to put out a hit on a witness while he was awaiting trial on the drug charges. Prosecutors also allege that Smith inquired about hiring a hit man to kill his wife and her new boyfriend. Smith denies those allegations

Defense attorney Joseph Friedberg has said in court papers that Smith should face a lighter sentence of 20 years in prison.

Something tells me that making him eat one can of SPAM for every spam message he sent would be considered cruel and unusual... but a good idea nevertheless.

I think they should list convicted spammers publicly like they do sex offenders, so people can tomato and harass them at will.

I think they should be forced to read every spam message they sent out loud.... Have a man stand behind him holding a big stick to give him a wack to the back of the head everytime he loses focus.

That would be interesting to watch.

They should also restrict his diet to nothing but spam and potted meat.
