Double Posting Errors
Hi all,
Recently my forum has started to sometimes double post a users post as well as redirect to "This forum requires that you wait 30 seconds between posts. Please try again in 16 seconds." even though they only pressed submit once? My staff has tested this too and also had the same experience. Any ideas where this may from? Cheers |

What hacks have you installed? Have you tried disabling all hacks to see if this corrects the issue?

req2d, is there any chance you found out what might have been causing this?
I realize that disabling all of your plugins might be the vbulletin.org solution, but that's not really a practicle solution for a live forum as it really renders the forum pretty useless. I would like to point out that I use the vBulletin.org forums not so much for the moderator help, but for fellow community member help. I use it in the hope that maybe, just maybe, another community member might have run into the same issue and might have found the solution without having to disable all plugins and make their forums unusable in the sense that these plug-ins do alter the look and feel of our forums. Disabling them leaves gaps in that layout. |

Disabling might also disable some functionality of your board, but it is essential in troubleshooting most problems. And we never ask you to disable them permanent.
To troubleshoot this, please remove any hacks and disable your plugins, then see if you still have this problem. Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true); If so, reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server. If your problem still exists, please create a new Style with no Parent set. Now browse the forum using this new style, do you still have the same problems? If you are troubleshooting login or guest issues, you will need to set this style as board default in the vBulletin Options. |

I understand - but the issue is that this issue isn't always occurring, it's random. I would have to disable these features for a period of time.
Is there anywhere on this forum that I can post asking for non-moderator assistance in the hope that someone else might have run into this issue and might be able to provide assistance without requiring me to bring down my entire forum for a matter of hours to possibly a day? I understand the purpose behind disabling the plug-ins. Believe me, I do. But there has to be a middle ground here. Something that isn't going to require me to make our forums look entirely hideous for hours while we wait for someone to post and see if this issue presents its self again...and then HOPE that that user reports it to us IF it happens. |

You can start with the 2nd and 3rd options to see if that solves your problem. There really areonly 3 possible reasons for this problem:
- Outdated files (and especially the JS-files) - Outdated/bad style - Modification that causes this. |
