Default Opinions on vbSeo

I'm not sure if I put this thread in the correct forum, if not feel free to move it and sorry.

Does anyone have vbSeo? Does it work? Is it worth the money?

Its a fantastic product in terms of function, but when i used it i really didnt see any improvement in my rankings and ive noticed that the top vb forums in the world dont use any kind of SEO like that.

best place to ask for its use is their official forum... you will find both pros and cons of it...

I don't think that a large portion of the disappointed clients will be there...
I want unbiased opinions.

actually, it is good to go read the support forums... if nobody complains, if there is never a bug report, that means the product is perfect...

vBSEO is what it is. No one can tell you if it will be worth it for you, there are too many variables.

Most people think vBSEO is a out-of-the-box solution to all of their problems, that people will come from all over the world to their site and that google will rank it #1 in a week.

Obviously, this is untrue. There's no "magic" to vBSEO, and the development team themselves will tell you this. vBSEO is simply a constantly updated collection of all of the latest SEO methods tailored to suit vBulletin. If you're willing to put in the work to properly optimize your site for SEO, then yes, vBSEO can help you. Is it worth the cost? Only you can decide that.

Personally? I've used vBSEO for over a year now and I wouldn't start a forum without it. Not because I can't, but because I'm going to optimize for SEO anyway -- so why not make it as easy as possible on myself? But, that's just my personal experience.

However, as nexialys pointed out, check out their official forums. I can't think of a single occurance where they've censored somebody's rant about the product. There is always going to be people who don't get their desired results. The vBSEO team will answer your questions in a timely, and truthful manner. They'll be the first to tell you that maybe vBSEO isn't right for you. They really don't need to sell vBSEO to you, for those who truly benefit from it, it sells itself.

The majority of people who have a negative opinion of vBSEO have never used it themselves. Whether it be because they think it costs too much, or they don't understand SEO.

Just FYI, I have found certain very nice features included with vBSEO. I think it is definitely worth it if you want a little "edge above" with your forum.

They do have a few learning curves, but for the most part, it's pretty easy and worth the money. I would certainly check out their site and talk to the sales staff and get others opinions. If someone doesn't think it's working, they will complain.

You don't need vbSEO, if you think you need it you are probably creating a community for the "wrong" reason.

There are quite some lies or half-truths on the vbSEO "feature" pages. For example the static URL friendlyness for search engines is false. The majority of search engines don't care if it's a static page or not, they don't even look at it. An other lie/half-truth is that vbSEO does not produce a performance hit. Almost every addition will result in a performance hit. It is probably not a noticeable hit, but there is one.

Anyway, vbSEO does add a lot of nice and useful features. The static url feature is user friendlier but also make things easier in statistical program like Google Analytics. Everything that works on an URL basis will profit from it. Most big search engines work mostly on content, not URLs.
