Drop down images in custom profile fields

Ok i have made a new custom profile field, it is set to a multiple choice dropdown menu.

Is it possible to make the choices show as images i tried to use:

[img]value[/img] as one of the options but this just shows the whole text.

Any ideas or mods available?
