Login box on non vb page

Hi all yes ive done a search and found two hacks, one was created in 2004 and i doubt its safe to use it any longer as things have changed since then so dont want to take the risk..

Does anybody know of a hack or can tell me how i would be able to make my own login box and display it on my frontpage which will be in php?
