I have seen where you can buy "items"

Is there a system out there that will allow people to buy new avatars they can use? Or custom effects to t heir names or any other such items.

What does everyone else use their point systems for?

yes but its item based. I would like something that might sell things like cool effects around their forum name or a cool avatar they could use or other cool features.
