I have a special usergroup that has access to the private forums. This is done on a promotion. (I run an all women's forum.) However, I have one man on the forum, but I do not want him to automatically be bumped to the special usergroup allowing use of the private forums. How can I make sure that doesn't happen EVEN after he's met the requirements of the promotion?

You could create a separate user group for men that doesn't promote.....

Thanks. I made a new usergroup and put this guy in it. How can I be sure that this usergroup doesn't promote to the usergroup with permissions to private forums?

I've made a new usergroup named "men" that has the same permissions as "Registered Users" usergroup. I changed this guy's primary usergroup to "men". I'm just wondering if when he gets a certain amount of posts, is his primary usergroup gonna change to the PRIVATE usergroup, due to the promotion I have in place. (I'm really not an idiot, although I might sound like one right now.) ![]() |

When you set the promotions for the normal Registered Usergroup, under the Promotions option,in the very 1st option,it states which usergroup is going to be affected and the last option states which usergroup "Guy" is going to be get promoted to if he hits the promotion strategy you set.So in this case,as long as you dont set any promotions for the new usergroup - "Men",it wont affect the usergroup promotion strategy you've set for the other Registered Usergroup.
Hope you understand what i'm saying!Cheers! ![]() |
