Anyone use VBAdvanced? Please read (looking for a module)
First off, does anyone here use VBAdvanced as a portal for their main site?
If you do, you know it installs flawlessly as a plugin to VB and works pretty well. Unfortunately, it lacks in some (in my opinion) very important modules. For example, it has a great news module that pulls threads from a specific forum, formats them, and posts them on your main page, automatically archiving the last x posts. I'm looking for a articles module though. Similar to news (in that it pulls threads from a specified forum), but different in that it should also have an option to be split up into several pages and automatically linked accordingly. This would be done in the thread with some sort of custom bb code I guess? Like something-pagebreak-something? So let's say I wanted to post a thread as an article on my website, and it looked like this: text page break text page break text It should automatically be split up into 3 pages upon posting. There should also be formatting code for posting other information (articles/thread title, author, date, etc). Long story short, does such a module even exist for VBA? How hard would it be to write one if not? You could probably use the existing news module and add/modify some things with it. This is pretty much the most important thing to get my site back up and running right now. Far cry, I know, but does anyone know of something like this? If you don't understand what I'm talking about I can try to explain it better. TIA, -Mikhail |
