My apologies that this is my first post here. I have looked and looked but can't find an answer.
What I am looking to do is Moderate new members first 10 post. After that there post will no longer be moderated. How can I accomplish this. Thanks I am just leaving work so I probably will not reply tonight so I would like to say thanks in advance to any and all replies. |

Set the registered users usergroup to be moderated then make a new usergroup & set it with the permissions you want then set up new promotion that moves reg users to the new group after 10 posts.
To set permissions on registered users: admincp ==> Usergroup manager ==> Registered Users ==> Follow Forum Moderation Rules ==> Set To No(This setting causes posts to be moderated) Then make a new usergroup (Name It Whatever You Want) Full Member is what I use. admincp ==> Usergroup manager ==> (Your New Usergroup) ==> Follow Forum Moderation Rules ==> Set To Yes(This allows posting with no moderation) Then make a new promotion. admincp ==> Usergroups ==> Promotions ==> Add New Promotion ==> (Settings for new promotion below) Change the options noted in red leave default noted in blue.
Hope this helps you out any questions feel free. |

I hope that's not a stupid question, but is it possible to do this the other way around? I really wouldn't want to touch the "registered user" group, but rather create a "newcomer" group for new members who get then automatically promoted to "registered user" after X posts.
Thanks, Tobias |

No, it is not possible without hacking. The registered users group is hardcoded as the destination for new users.

Alternative idea - is it possible to have the registered user group show up with the user title "Newcomer", and assign the user title "Registered User" to whatever usergroup I create to promote new members to instead? I hope the distinction between user title and user group is not lost here. What I generally want to avoid is any openly visible and possible irritating change in the accounts of existing forum users. |

Of course you can. The title and even the name of the group are settable at the top of the options form for each group.
