excluding forums from 'last post' column

Hello, i have made a few sub forums on my forum-
http://www.thedailypunt.com/forum/index.php

The thing is on certain forums (general chat for instance) i don't want the new post in the subforums to show as the last post in the forum index. Is there a way to change this?
