Help changing the template around

How can I change my template around? what I want to do is move the fields around like Users Online. By default as we know it is at the bottom as seen here in my forum www.completerc.com

At www.civicseven.com he has it on the left. How can I move these around like this site did?

How do you edit the template? I am looking to move things around and I want to make sure I don't do the wrong thing
